I’m passionate about web technologies, I love building websites, and I'm T-shaped. At heart, I’m a user experience designer. People build tools and platforms for other real people to use. My goal in every project is to leave the person looking at the screen enriched in some way. Ultimately, this creates loyalty. I believe that the interface, code, and base architecture all work together to create this unique experience.
I’m 1 part designer, 1 part developer, and 2 parts communicator. I’m as fanatical about CSS3 and HTML5 as I am about grid systems and web typography. I know when that stubborn element is 2 pixels off, which class to change to get it where it should be, and why it might be more effective in green instead of teal. Also, I like commenting my code and I love deadlines.
I’ve been successfully freelancing for 3 years, and running my own business for 1. I'm delighted by making my clients happy, and I am quite ready to take the next step. I'm excited about working with a team, being challenged, and getting to do more of what I do best, make websites. The world of Ruby on Rails, RSpec, and git is my next programming adventure, so when your listing came up, I nearly fell off my chair. After teaching myself for a while, I'm itching to learn in a development environment with the masters.
I first heard about Mint Digital during your 2008 “Web App Weekender.” The productivity, rapid prototyping, and heaps of inspiration thrilled me. The model is absolutely brilliant.
You do phenomenal work for clients and create products of your own that keep the web happily going “ping.” You need a team who can keep up, adapt, communicate well, ship, and dauntlessly lead the field forward. It seems like you simply “get it.” I would love to contribute my experience and skills to such a solid team.
Having dealt with many CMS's over the years that were less than ideal, the opportunity to work on BloomBox excites me. When developing CMS's there is a fine balance between creating a platform that is both superbly flexible and highly usable. I would love to be a part of taking on this challenge.
Also, I noticed from your about page that you have no females on your design or development team. We can offer a new perspective, and we have access to some non-y-chromosome CSS3 properties. (Shh... don’t tell anybody I told you.)
I want to work with great people who are passionate about what they do. I look forward to enriching Mint Digital with what I have to offer, and evolving as fast as our mental RAM will let us.
